Welcome to The Lodge our comfy cottage nestled in nature with sauna and hot tub.This one of a kind property is an absolute rustic charmer. Very private natural setting. Nestled amongst tall trees, wildlife, and beautiful rocks. The Lodge is located in Messines, QC only 113km from downtown Ottawa. Veloroute Des Dravers hiking trail is right in the backyard – direct trail access from the chalet. A short trip through the scenic trees will lead you to 72km of cycling or snowmobiling trails. Lac Blue Sea is a short 5 minutes down the road for fishing or swimming.

The space

Welcome to the Lodge!

Our chalet was designed with romance, ease and comfort in mind.

We have direct snowmobile access to Veloroute Des Dravers. A private sauna and hot tub. Fully stocked chalet.

Indoors:
• Open concept loft – sleeps up to 6. Private bedroom on the main level – sleeps up to 4 (with bunks) bonus pull out sofa bed.
• Wood-burning fireplace (wood provided)
• Kitchen incl. toaster, microwave, raclette, air fryer, drip coffee machine, all cooking necessities pots, pans, cutlery, cook wear etc.
• Fresh linens and towels. Bring your own beach towels.
• Wifi.
• TV with movies.
• An Amazon Echo (Alexa).
• Board games.

Outdoors:
• Private sauna and hot tub.
• Direct access (hiking or snowmobiling) to Veloroute Des Dravers 72km groomed trail.
• Deck with bbq, seating and dining table (seasonal), overlooking nature.
• Outdoor fire-pit. Firewood is provided.
• The wooded forest in the backyard is great for a little exploring and leads you directly on Veloroute Des Dravers hiking / snowmobiling trail.
• Trail access to Lac Blue Sea with public swimming. Walk (15m) or drive (5m).

The upstairs loft can sleep 6. It has one private queen sized bedroom. An open concept living space with two single beds, and a double pull out futon.

The downstairs bedroom can sleep 4. It has one double bed and a bunkbed with two single mattresses.

There is a bonus pull out sofa bed in the living room.

Our dining table seats 6 in the kitchen, overlooking the beautiful trees outside the large window.

The lodge is perfect for a hide away or make it your base for adventure: 6 minutes to Blue Sea beach (drive), direct access to Veloroute Des Dravers snowmobile / hiking trail. Hike, snow shoe or cross country skii at Mont Morisette. And visit Blue Sea for local charm, all just minutes away.

Golf and Berries – Les Fruits Du Sommet / Club De Golf Le Sommet – Come harvest 10 varieties of raspberry and 7 varieties of blueberries. From mid-July to the end of August. Come try 9-hole executive golf course, with a total normal of 31.The farm offers fresh fruits and various local products.

Art gallery – Le Presbytère de Blue Sea – Located in Vallée-de-la-Gatineau, the Blue Sea Rectory is a wonderful and welcoming place for residents, vacationers, and tourists. It features an art gallery, a tourist information desk, free Wi-Fi, and a community garden.

Ferme Au Soleil Levant – This farm first planted berries in 2009. It boasts seven varieties of haskaps and 10 types of blueberries. These berries rich in antioxidants can be picked and consumed fresh and can be easily processed.

The Cedar lakes recreational trail – A 15-km (9.3-mi.) trail network located in the forest between the two Cèdres lakes in the municipality of Messines. The trails are maintained for hiking in the summer and for skiing in its northern portion in the winter.

So, you can appreciate the scenery as you speed down our slopes. And with a great mix of runs ranging from easy to expert, there is no shortage of ways to get down our mountain.

Curling – Vallée-de-la-Gatineau Curling Club in Maniwaki. It has two rinks, a reception hall, a bar, a kitchen and a large parking lot.

Grocery and other amenities are a 7 minute drive away. Or larger grocery stores and restaurants in Maniwaki, or Gracefield approx 22km from the cottage.
